@@redhatpat No it really doesn't? At least not if you're not living in UK or USA. I live in Poland, and many of the traditional stuff made in Poland is older than the last 3 Polish states combined. Like we have manufacturers of vodka, beer or bakeries that were established before Poland was partitioned, and they still operate, despite the fact that those places were controlled by 10 different countries/governments at one point or another, including the communist one. Example- in Kielce there's a 250 year old continuously-working bakery, it was established back when Poland still had a king, then survived partitions, napoleonic wars, 3 uprisings, ww1, ww2, communism, and it still works to this day. And it's not like it just happened to be in some magical tiny area of Poland where most of those things just 'went around them'.

Fry was frozen for a 1,000 years at midnight New Years Day, but it was daytime when he woke up. It really depends. Inflation isn't always 5-6%, in most years it's between 1 and 3%, which means that the nominal 2.25% interest on Fry's savings account would have beat the average inflation over 1000 years. Even in years where it didn't beat inflation, he would have lost less relative value than people who weren't generating that interest. Assuming fry just barely beat the average inflation over 1,000 years it would be like he turned his 0.93 cents in 1990's money into $1,635.08 in 1990's money, which is pretty incredible honestly.
