Son's mental awareness is astounding. Surrounded by three, and even four defenders, he saw Hwang barreling through the defense and slipped him an impossible nutmeg pass that a microsecond slower would have put him offside. The intersection of genius and luck. Son is a wonder.
Hwang Hee Chan's sprint at the last minute goal was just absolutely beautiful.. that dude just gave his all to score and he fully deserved it. Every moment of it
I wish Liverpool would've bought him instead of Minami o from the great young rb Salzburg team with halaand him and Minami I, I always thought his style of play would've adapted to the epl better whereas Minamino never gained the strength needed in the epl. but had amazing technique and finishing
Son’s cross was amazing, beautiful, and just proves his talent as a world-class player! Hwang’s goal was equally amazing and I love his energy in that crazy run! Kim’s goal also shows his passion as a player! I love the Korean spirit! :)
For me, the performances by Japan and South Korea have been the best stories of this World Cup. Heavy underdogs to make it out of their respective groups, but play harder and with more passion than any other team in the tournament. Bravo!
That was one of the most brilliant runs by Son. All that pressure on him and he kept the ball secure and played a splendid ball into a prime scoring position
We are desperately sick, with the sickness of sin. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and we need a Savior (Romans 3:23). THE Savior, who is Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Only through Him we can be reconciled to God and be saved (John 14:6). Please turn to Him today, and turn away from sin. He provides something much better than the mere fleeting pleasures of this world could ever bring (1 John 2). In Him we have peace that surpasses all understanding, true rest, vindication, a friend, sanctification, and most of all- Salvation and an eternal hope. If you live for Christ you will have no regrets. (John 14:27, Matthew 11:28, Proverbs 18:24, 1 Corinthians 1:30, 21 and 22) and you will be serving the True Living God who loved us so much and gave His precious Son for us ^^ John 3:16-18: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
In ²⁰¹⁸, México won over ROK﹠met Brasil. In ²⁰²², ROK won over Uruguay﹠met Brasil. The conclusion was the same ; Brasil. | Пусть наш Бог хранит Україну.
Having lived in Korea for 6 years not long ago, I was overcome with emotion at the end of this video. They made everyone proud with their relentless pursuit till the last minute. The tears are because of what everyone thought about them and what they achieved finally.
Cheers for being in ROK^^; ROK has not been a good country, however, i want all people to be safe, cheerful, healthy, pious in ROK. | Cầu nguyện cho Ukraine và hòa bình.
As a Japanese fan, I was rooting for South Korea the whole time! A lot of the critics counted South Korea out and looked at it as an easy win for Portugal, but you guys proved them wrong! I'm so happy for all the South Korean fans and players! A well deserved win!
Son Heung Min made one of the best assists ever today. He still managed to make a world-class cross while 3 Portugal defenders surrounded him! Also, major credit to Hwang for putting in an amazing goal! South Korea has truly proven themselves in front of the world! ♥️
My goodness what a goal and have to give a lot of credit to Son...what a World class player as he realized that there is no one to pass it to you so he stalled a bit and then Hwang with that cool finish...wow!
I regret not watching this game live. I got legitimate goosebumps just from watching this video. If i watched this live and saw that goal I'd be jumping out of my seat in the middle of class
@Proliemdelu HAHAHAHA. You are confused with the inaccurate modern term Latino. Italy is where Latin civilization originated. Spain, Portugal, Italy are all Latin. Educate yourself.
As a Mexican, I fully support my Korean brothers just as much as you guys supported us 4 years ago! You guys played an amazing game today and I wish you luck against Brazil in the Round of 16. Vamos, Koréa! 🇲🇽🤝🇰🇷
I’ve seen 5 world cups in my lifetime counting this one, now I might be wrong, but this World Cup it seems like the underdogs are dominating! Which is awesome to see more diverse countries in the disqualification stages! Not gonna lie, it’s been a surprise.
Not underdogs. Asian (Japan SKorea China) and African (Ghana Senegal Egypt) countries and their footballers have improved immensely over the past decade being on par or better than the once dominant European (Spain France Italy) and South American (Brazil Uraguay Argentina) countries and their footballers. That is fact testament of footballers like Son Mane Salah in top Euro clubs.
Son is probably the hardest working player in any international team. He goes back and defends, he takes corners and still had the legs to make that run in the 90th min to make it happen for his team. Well done 👍🏾
Honestly i am very happy for the South Korean National Team. Last world cup they couldn't celebrate even though they beat Germany 2-1 in the last World Cup game cause it wasn't enough to advance, but today was a different story. Even though they may get knocked out in the next round by Brazil, but at least they achieved what they wanted, to advance out of the group stage after a long time.
Son Heung-min earned one of the most heroic game-winning assists in World Cup history. He was wearing a mask to protect a broken face, exhausted from playing the entire match, and swarmed by Portuguese players. Son ignored the pain and fatigue and created that goal with his courage, strength, and determination 👏
This World Cup has been amazing, not one team has dominated its group, so much last match drama not knowing who will go through! Hope we have more amazing knockout stage matches!
Having lived in Korea for 6 years not long ago, I was overcome with emotion at the end of this video. They made everyone proud with their relentless pursuit till the last minute. The tears are because of what everyone thought about them and what they achieved finally.
THANK YOU THE KOREAN NATIONAL TEAM! THANK YOU SON HEUNG MIN! THANK YOU KIM YOUNG KWON! THANK YOU HWANG HEE CHAN! THANK YOU EVERYONE ON THE TEAM! YOU HAVE MADE US A KOREANS SO PROUD! :)
Japan and Korea have been on par with 2nd tier Euro teams, Portugal included for quite some time. If you followed them, you'd know these groups are wide open for the taking. Not exactly upsets.
Goes to show how stacked some of these club teams really are when watching the world cup. Prime examples Son, Kane etc. play for Tottenham, half of the Germans play for Bayern, PSG with M'Bappe, Neymar AND Messi, I could go on and on, Man United, Man City, Real Madrid, Chelsea just stacked teams, it was nice to even see players from the USA play overseas like Pulisic Time Weah Sergino Dest, etc.. but I will say it's crazy how one player from overseas can come play in the MLS and just dominate prime example Thierry Henry, Gareth Bale, and of course Zlatan etc. Imagine if the rumors are true and Inter Miami gets a Leo Messi (he lives in Miami) or a star of his caliber that'd be insane.
Son scoring without scoring, what an assist!!! Really falling in love with Hwang Hee-Chan, hope South Korea know how many people around the world are rooting for them! Cheers from USA
@Hugar 34 oh man yep, 2 African teams and 2 Asian team totally put Europe off there high horse. Yep those are a lot of African and Asian teams compared to the 8 European teams. Yep so much knocking the African and Asian teams did. I guess 4 is now more than 8. Great analysis Hugar 34
I've noticed that Asia and Africa have both been doing really good while European countries aren't doing too well. This World Cup has finally put Europe off their high horse lol
3:55 i was at school during my lunch period sitting next to a fan of south korea and some of my other fans, we were all tuned into the final moments and at this chance we all stood up when son had the ball, we acted like kindergarteners when he played that ball in, it was such a good moment
Dude the way Son timed the ball carefully and passed it to his teammate to get their second goal was amazing! I watched the match at my college lunch room and everyone was screaming when they won haha!!!
@Samir Portugal losing takes them to +2 and ghana winning by 2 would have also taken them to +2. Ghana would have scored more goals with same goal difference, thus winning tiebreak.
What a pass!! This is the best Korean team since 2002 with great teamwork, plus more powerful and much better organized!! And what a dash and pass by Sonny!! Irony! Sonny runs like C. Ronaldo's signature run. Overall, this has been the most exciting World Cup since 2002!!
Well done SouthKorea you deserve to be there , I earlier said there are no underdogs on the world stage of soccer anymore, a perfect example is the USA advancing to the round of 16 . Congrats and keep playing well ,totally enjoyed❤.
If you’re not a big football fan, that second Korean goal may not have seemed special. In reality, I’d argue that’s the goal of the tournament. For a guy to see through and calmly place that ball between three defenders to an attacker is nothing short of incredible.
This is why we love football. The magic that can happen when a team gives all they have is special, something that you can't get in other sports. How he saw the pass that lead to Hwang Hee-chan scoring the final goal is incredible! Congrats South Korea!
@3B Wayne responses? Oh yeah.. out of this world. I’m sure that the record.. 🙄 got your attention though. Are you OK with what I said? Or did my words make you fall down on the ground holding your knee like these Great soccer warriors? 😂🤣
@Highway Concepts it doesn’t matter if it’s a world stage dude? Soccer all you need is a ball and two objects to make a goal. Why do you think so many people play the game? Third world countries and all.. do you think the kids in Brazil are going to be skating around in an ice rink with equipment that cost hundreds or thousands? Are all of those kids going to buy football equipment? No.. they don’t know about the sports in those countries because it’s not covered. Watch people react to the NHL on ELvids and they fall in love instantly. They are always shocked at how hard it looks and the skill. And there sport IQ is definitely higher than soccer players. The ball doesn’t go over 100 miles an hour like a puck does 🤷♂️🤣
@Highway Concepts are you kidding me right now!? I am an American and a hockey fan.. i’ve played my whole life.. I played decently competitive travel soccer until I was 15.. I quit to you play hockey full-time. You have no idea what you were talking about clearly. Just the sport I am talking about.. hockey. They are 1000 times more passionate than these fans and the players. Do you even know what it takes to win the Stanley Cup!? No you don’t because you only focus and like soccer. No I’m not calling it football. Hockey players play with broken bones! 100 mile an hour slap shot to the body on a daily basis and they continue on. this is how I know that you have no clue. Trust me when I say that soccer is nothing compared to hockey or even American football. It’s just odd to fake every little thing that taps you. It’s been going on forever and they’ve never tried to fix it is the weird thing. On top of that they get paid more than anyone which makes me sick. If they stopped all of the dramatic faking BS then it would be 1000 times better. You know it too!
That was amazing!! I don't like Ronaldo, so seeing him lose is a great moment to me! And I have a brother from college from South Korea, so seeing Ronaldo lose to them just makes it even more of a great moment.
What an incredible result I never would have expected this ever I'm so happy for South Korea and I'm happy for America and the United States World Cup football is amazing the only thing that comes close is the college basketball NCAA Final Four March Madness Tournament oh and I'm going to guess that South Korea didn't get in but still I just love myself and I love life and I hope you do too yes I Rastafari Tucson Arizona
Korea had 9% to be top 16 in this match. Almost everyone thought Korea would lose since Portugal is a strong team, especially with Ronaldo. Korea's coach was suspended from the stage from the last game and Sonny was still injured.
This is the most rollercoaster World Cup I’ve been alive for so far. Regardless of all the drama behind it, this is imo the best so far just because of all the surprises and emotions through these last group stage games.
It’s all fake. FIFA is a corrupt institution and there are many back room deals that have gone down before and will continue to go down. A good example of this would be the very biased VAR team for the Japanese vs Spanish game. But then again entertainment is more important to people nowadays than strong morals.
This World Cup is super-exciting and sort of like a changing of the guard. We could see it coming. Other countries are catching up to the traditional powerhouses and now it's anyone's game. It's great to see!
This is by far the most intense, entertaining, and underestimate-no-one World Cup. Losses and wins by threads. Every team left their all at the pitch. Maybe players playing mid season and being more fit than the summer window has been a blessing in disguise.
Yes! The swings back and forth are crazy! It just highlights how there are no dominant teams in the world any more (YAY!) So many national programs have come so far - and soccer is infinitely better for it.
