as an Indian, I know that coconut water she threw.. was sweet and healthy and its fruit too.. we eat nd drink dry brown coconut on almost every festival.. and it taste absolutely good.. and on more thing.. you can eat coconut until it starts smelling bad... it's water will be dried.. but fruit still can be consumed...

The water is still present in the brown one. Although not as sweet as a young(jelly) coconut, can still be drunk or used in any other way. What she did was waste the water. I see my relative do the the same too,tho not always and it makes me upset that they throw away perfectly good food. Jelly coconut are called that way because the young coconut meat inside is clear and jelly like. The jelly is actually the coconut water that continues to harden as it matures and is what is used to create coconut milk after blended and strained

Don’t waste the coconut flesh. You can use it by straining it out with coconut water to make coconut milk which is game changing if your stranded like this. It is packed with vitamins and nutrients plus it’s a safe way to stay hydrated. You could also take chunks of the coconut flesh and leave it in a place with lots of sun to dry out. It doesnt spoil and you could have coconut jerky as a spare food source. I’m glad you used the husk as a water vessel because that is the other useful thing you can get with coconuts

She can’t make milk with the flesh since it’s wayyy too big to strain it. You can save the coconut water to drink as it is tho and eat the flesh directly.
