If you pay attention to all jis comments you will see he just can't offer any Artistic advice, he went to the States and came back with a whole load of verbal put-downs, in fact he sounded exactly like Howie Mundel when he returned but still with his English accent, he is not an artistically talented person but a business man and he plays and loves yhe camera, this is shown in the editing he does....it's so-so false....

Simon could feel how inauthentic she was and he was right. This same singer was on American Idol last year and looked completely different and sang completely different types of songs. And she said she had spent her whole life trying to be the person everyone else wanted her to be. She clearly did not like this phase in her life and Simon knew.

Its about her confidence and who she is. That jewelry was pretty on her and everything, but she hid behind it thinking it would make her stand out, which it did. But in doing so also made her feel less herself and more like she had to sell herself (which she does but its not a good feeling). Versus she is a lot more confident after taking it off she even said so herself.

Heres the thing they play these things by ear but this whole gimmick was manufactured by them to begin with. That is actually why out of any of these shows I prefer The Voice. The judges don’t get to see you in the audition unless they turn around for you. I feel like Simon gets too big for his britches sometimes, because he’s been doing this so long, and he says unnecessary things to see how it hurts the confidence of the contestants to see if they can endure the show. I actually think He made a tough but good call, and helped her relax into her authentic self. Which I also believe probably helped her release her voice even more. The girl is gorgeous… she looked stiff in the get up.. she’s 21… I think He freed her. And.. she was open to it. She Rocked It! I think there was some discerning wisdom there. To be in the spotlight 24/7 is hard If getting an outfit critique will break you, then you are not cut out for the music industry. I don’t care how many times it’s been addressed in this comment section, I’m gonna say it again. That was incredibly rude of Simon. She’s not a model, she’s a singer, and the fact that she managed to keep enough confidence to save that performance is proof enough that she is a strong and capable young woman. You can tell she’s affected by the comment, but still pushes through. Not to mention the fact that the “makeover” was simply messing up her hair and taking off a few beautiful pieces of jewelry simply because they didn’t look modern.
